Hi. I have a family tree available showing the history of the surname Niederer going back to the founding of the small town of Buechelberg/Pfalz, Germany.
Michael Niederer was born ca. 1690 in Kandel, Pfalz. He married Margarethe Masset, b. 1691, in 1721. Michael Niederer was a teacher and was the first cantor, or overseer, of Buechelberg, a settlement most likely founded as a limestone quarry by order of King Louis XIV.
My information comes directly from the Buechelberg town chronicle. There's a fun story attached to how I found the information, which I'll be happy to tell anyone who's interested :-).
