I have quite a bit of information on at least one of the Niederhauser families of Tuscarawas County.
Johann Niederhauser (b. 1854 in Canton Bern) came to the US in 1868 at the age of 13.His Father, also Johann (had immigrated in 1855, and was last heard from in Missouri in 1856.It is likely he died from cholera. Johann the elder was the son of Johann von Niederhauser (with an umlaut)
Johann's mother, Anna Schmeid (1822-1906) was the daughter of Christen Schmid (c. 1789-1869) and Margrita.Christen owned a hotel in Thalgut-bei-Gerzensee, Canton Bern.
Johann married Mary August Peter (1860-1952) (daughter of Edward & Rebecca) and they had 11 children, 6 of whom in turn had children:
1James Edward (b 1885)and Grace Harding had 3 children:Charles Eugene,Robert James and Dorothy Grace.
2Charles Howard (b 1887; known as "Chick"; was a professor at Stanford) and Ruth Tracy Strong had 3 children:Ruth Louise, John Strong and Sydney. (John S. is a highly respected professor at Arizona and a leader of the "Green Revolution"
3Mary Alma (b 1888; was a missionary in Thailand) and Lyle Beebe had 4 children:Richard Almon, Mary Lou, edward Jerome and Elizabeth Jean.
4Harold Warren (b1891) and Edna Dexter had 3 children:Warren Dexter, Donald Olcott and Nell Dexter.
5.Donald Oliver (1894)and Esther May Owens had one child:John Owen.Donald was known as "Dick", and his second wife, Dorothy Easton, is still alive and well at 100.
6Wendell Sherman (b 1900)and Linda Belle McElroy had two sons:David and Richard.Wendell lived in New Jersey and was a scientist/engineer with Dupont, I believe.
We have quite a bit of information; let me know if any of this connects with your family
