Hello David,
Today I received an email message from Irmgard Lochmann of
Montreal Canada saying:"I saw this message just yesterday and was surprised that it was posted by a cousin of mine, Harmut, who, unfortunagely, died in april last year.I wish to add that Hartmut's and my grandfather Georg Friedrich Nienstedt was a saddlemaker in Worpswede, Germany, and was born in Zeven.Ernst Friedrich Nienstedt married in Zeven a Sophie Maria Dorothea Nienstedt born Schmidt. When he emigrated to America in about 1890, he was followed by his son Karl Nienstedt who seems to have married in America an Irish woman.
I am looking for the whereabouts of my great grandfather and his son Karl in America."
Irmgard listed the number 514-489-1678 which, I presume, is his phone number. He posted this message in the Nienstedt Family Genealogy forum. Will you respond please?
I do not see any U.S. connection between your Nienstedt
Family and mine. However, they may be connected further back.My great grandfather was John Robert who emigrated to IL when he was 13 years old according to his birth cer-tificate.His brother, John Robert was 18 years older and emigrated to New York and then to Saginaw Michigan.Because John Robert was 18 years younger than John Henry, I wonder if John Henry wasn't really John Robert's father.
However, I know no way of determining that.
Good Luck in your search.Sharon
