Thanks once again for your help, Allen. I do have information on Charles Edward and his wife, Rose Hannah Sisson. They were my grandparents although they both died before I was born. The confusion comes with his father, Rev.Charles Martin Niles. I know from his death certificate that he was the son of Erwin Niles and Flora Niles, both born in Vermont. He left a wife, Mary Frances Doyle Niles. I believe that they had a son, Charles Martin, Jr. born on Sept 22, 1914. What confuses me is that the 1910 census says Charles Niles was born in Vermont (I agree) but that his parents were born in England.(not true). I think this person is Charles Ward Niles, son of Russell and Ellen Niles. However that same 1910 census does list Mary Frances Niles as his wife. I plan to get over to Pownal soon and see if I can discover anything else. Could it be possible that two different Charles Niles men could have married women names Mary Frances around the same time?
