Donna...I have contacted two of the Spring Hill descendants to pursue the name of Peter. However, for more info on your list of names, I do have the following:
Mary Nist Reuscher had an older sister named Elisabeth Nist b. 1848.She might be the Elisabeth Bruce you mentioned as we have no further record of her.
Mary Nist Reuscher also had a younger brother named Albert Nist b. 1870. It is possible that Peter could have been b. three years later and we do not have him on our listing.
The older brothers were Robert Nist b. 1854 and Joseph Nist b. 1862.I do have record of their wives and children.
Rachel Halter Nist would have been 43 years old if she did have bore a son named Peter. The only other possibility would be that her son, Robert b. 1854 had a previous marriage which we have no record. They did marry young and also had babies late in life.So either is a possibility.
The Lawrence Jos. Nist 1892-1978 is a stretch. He was born to Jacob John Nist, grandson of Jacob M. Nist, son of my gr gr grandfather, Joseph Nist.Jacob M. Nist left Pittsburgh ca 1878 and settled in Seattle, Wash with his seven children. and founded the Seattle-Tacoma Box Co. which is over 100 years old.Six of his descendants still work there.I don't know what the connection of your notes would be to Lawrence except they were second or third cousins to Aunt Amelia.
I hope we are in the right ballpark. If so, I will await answers from the Spring Hill descendants.Lori
