John Johnson & Ella Naomi Nighswonger were my dads parents.Ella was born Aug. 30,1892 in Viola, Kansas, and died Oct. 3,1965 & is buried in Deerfield,Kansas beside her husband. John died June 27,1965.Ella died basically of a broken heart. What info do you have on Peter Nighswonger? Any dates or places?Jane Sellers dad was Howell Sellers, born in 1762. Howell Sellers served in the Revolutionary war under Captian Arthur Simpkins; he had enlisted at age 14, the year being 1776. He was on a Florida expedition under Gen. Williamson,Col. Beard, Col. Winn,& Major Pickens. Under Cap. John Ryan, he fought in the battle at Briar Creek. He was also in battle with the Creek Indians at Rocky Comfort under Major Ross. Afterwards he fought in the battle at Stono. Then, under Captian White, was in the siege of Savannah. His last tour was under Cap. Jmaes Casey & Gen. Greene.Howell Sellers married Margaret Conner. Reisin Nighswonger, son of Peter (who you added to my tree), was born in 1792, died Jan.13,1870; married Susan Buffington, who was born in 1992 in VA. They were married in either 1811 or 1812. Susan's parents were Joel Buffington, born in 1752 in VA, & Edith Logan; they were married in 1772 (which makes it look like Susan was a late surprise, huh? Or Edith was nearly a child when she married!)Joel'sparents were William Buffington & Magdalena Ferree. William was born in PA, they were married in VA; Magdalena was born in 1710, in PA. Her parents were Phillip Ferre & Leah Dubois. Phillip was born in 1686 in GR (is what it said, & I assume it means Germany but I'm not sure). Leah was born in 1687 in NY; they were married in 1713 in NY.Leah's dad was Abraham Dubois, & his dad was Louis Dubois. From that last name I think its a good guess that they were French. That is all I have. Hope that helps you in your search. Anything you can tell me about Peter Nigswonger would be a help.
