I just stubbled upon this site and am excited to see a few recognizable names from my family tree. I wish I could help anyone on here, but I can't. However, maybe someone can help me. My great-grandfather was Archie Neiswanger. He would have been born around the 1870s, probably in Indiana or Ohio. He was married to Cora Sears near the turn of the century and they had five children. Archie lived around Daviess County Indiana before disappearing when my grandfather was 15. They never heard from him again, not surehow responsible of a guy he really was. He apparently drifted quite a bit, he was a migrant worker, a carpenter and did other odd jobs in the 1910s-1920s. I have always been curious about him, wondered if he just started a new family or new life. At one point he lived in Chicago in the 1920s. The family passed around a story he was one of many murdured during the prohibition days. I later found out this was a legend that was told enough times that it just sounded like the truth. Another theory had him being buried in the Hoover Dam accident. His nickname was "Dutch", rarely went by Archie. Just wondering, thanks for taking the time to read this.
