Nitche in OH
I just started researching this line and I'm afriad because I have so little information that I might not find anything, but it's worth a shot.
So, here is what I know:
My grandfather's grandmother was a Rosa. He called her granny. He said, "she lived to be either 93 or 96" and "she wore out two husbands. She died when I was between 14 to 17 years old but she always looked the same; She looked like she was 90 when she was 60, 70, 80."
Because my grandfather mentioned that he thought she was married twice I am assuming one of the men she married was a Metz because her name was written on pictures as Rosa Metz Nitche (second husband's last name was Nitche). Her second husband was a Nitche (written on the back of photos as Allen Nitche) but it could have been Nitsche, Neitsche, Neitsch, Neitisch or maybe even Neidig or Neidich. I also know that Rosa was a mennonite and that Allen Nitche might have been Jewish. Grandpa said, "Allen was a German Jew."
Based on the above information and because my grandfather was born in 1936 and was 14 to 17 in the years 1950 to 1953, Rosa might have been born between 1857 to 1863 and died between 1950 to 1953. The funny thing is is that Rosa stopped appreaing in pictures after 1939. So, she actually might have died around 1939 to 1941.
The most concrete information I have is that Rosa and Allen had at least one child (I'm almost certain that they only had one child or else I would have known about it and there would be pictures in the family books): Anna M. Nitche (last name is subject to spelling differences as mentioned above). Anna was born 28 Jul 1895 and died 31 Oct 1981 in Dayton, OH. I'm unsure where she was born, but I did find that her social security number was issued by the state of MI and I know she was back and forth between MI and OH. Anna was married twice: first to James Edward Jordan and second to a Willfred (?) Archambeau. Anna had two children by James (Carolyn and Vivian) and none by Archambeau.
If any of this looks familiar please let me know. Thanks!
