Here may be some useful information on the Nizolek family that I found on the Ellis Island website.I am researching the Lorenz family, who happened to arrive with the Nizolek family from the same town in Galicia. There are a few other Nizolek's in the Ellis Island database. Some of those Nizolek's went to Chicago.
Simon Nizolek, age 28, married, from Jasliska, Galicia arrived on the ship Trave from Bremen on November 4, 1897.He had been in the US before in 1887 and was going to visit his father in Elizabeth, NJ at 233 Bellway (not sure of the spelling).
He was traveling with Magda Nizolek (misspelled Vizolek in the database), age 15, single; Katha Nizolek, age 17, single; and Maryanna Nizolek, age 25, married.
Maryanna may have been Simon's wife, but they weren't listed next to each other on the manifest and she was "visiting her husband in Elizabeth, NJ at 230 South Street".Maryanna was listed on the manifest with three other women from Jasliska who were all going to the same address--Maryanna Orlinska (visiting her uncle), Paraska Matlaga (misspelled in the database)(visiting her cousin), and Maryana Kurjawa (a friend).
I am trying to locate information on Maryanna Lorenz, her husband Jan, daughter Paulina, and son Lawrence.
