Great to hear from you! John (born 1699) was a French Hugenot living in Ireland. He left Ireland with a group of Quakers to settle in PA. John came to America with his three brothers Richard, Francis and William.The brothers arrived in December of 1721 on the ship "Querrier" at Grandy's Point, located on Cape May below Philadelphia.He first appeared on the tax rolls as a resident citizen of Newton Township, Chester County Pennsylvania during the tax year of 1729.
His grandfather Gabrielle was born in 1649 at the family estate at Chaisneys de Tersillac near Falaise, on lands granted to his ancestor Jacques de Noblette by William, Duke of Normandy. the estate was famous in French history. He fled to England, and died in 1703 in either England or Ireland. His descendants went to Ireland.
