I'm still looking for the parents of Elizabeth Noblett who married Henry Skaggs about 1810/1812 probably in Green Co. KY.
I have found a website named "justice/ward" on Ancestry World Tree Project where there is a listing for John Noblett, born 1690, died 24 Aug 1748 in York Co. PA, married Ann Bereton with children named Abraham, Thomas, William, Sarah, Frances, John, and Mary.
The son named John was born 3 Dec 1743 in York Co. PA, died 1807 in Chatham, NC, married Rebecca Keys abt 1768 in York Co. PA.John and Rebecca are shown with 11 children, three of them are William Noblett born 6 Aug 1776 in Chatham, NC; Thomas Noblett born 13 May 1778; and Elizabeth Noblett born abt 1780.This Elizabeth Noblett is the right age to be my Elizabeth Noblett, and this William Noblett is the right age to be the same person who died in Osage Co. MO.I also found a Census record for William Noblett and John Bowman living a few households away from each other on the 1810 Henry Co. KY Census. If William Noblett and his family left Rhea Co. TN, went north across KY to Henry Co, they would have gone through Green Co. KY.Since the record shows that William and Elizabeth's father died in 1807, it would be perhaps a natural things for the unmarried Elizabeth to be living with her brother and his family.
Do you think I am on the right track here?I also have another question for you.I have been going over your information posted on gencircles, and I recently looked at the 1850 Osage Co. MO Census record again listing Henry Skaggs.I found the following:
(1) Living in household #68 was Henry Skaggs with his second wife (also named Elizabeth) and his son Asa Skaggs. Also living with them was a woman named Lydia Findley, age 36, born in KY; Franklin Noblett, age 12, born in TN; and Henry Noblett, age 8, born in MO.
(2) Living in household #70 is David Skaggs, age 29, Henry's nephew., with his wife and children.
(3) Living in household #71 is John Bowman and his wife Margaret (Noblett) with their children, one of whom was Rachel. Also living with them is Adeline Noblett, age 18, born in TN.This is the same Adeline Noblett who married the above mentioned Asa Skaggs.
(4) Living in household #74 is Eli Giesler and his wife Charlotte (Skaggs), daughter of Henry and sister of Asa, with their children, one of whom is John Henry Giesler who later married the above mentioned Rachel Hannah Bowman.
My question for you is, Do you think that the two Noblett children, Franklin age 12 and Henry age 8, who are living with Henry Skaggs on the 1850 Census are the same as Benjamin Franklin Noblett, born bet 1837 and 1838 in TN; and Henry Clay Noblett, born 14 Jan 1842 in MO. that you have listed as children of Thomas Noblett and Elizabeth Casey. Also, you have info posted that Thomas and Elizabeth Casey married in Rhea Co. TN in 1827.Since Adeline Noblett was born about 1832 and is apparently "without parents" in 1850,just like Franklin and Herny, and the fact they are living with other families, but only two households away from each other, that maybe Adeline is also a child of Thomas and Elizabeth and the sister of Franklin and Henry?
