For 20 years now I have tried to find someone working on the same lineage as me and never have.Maybe some day...
Anyway, I descend, (I think) from Rudolph NAFZGER, his son John NOFFSINGER who m Elizabeth SIMMONS, John's son Samuel NOFFSINGER who m Mary BRECKNER 1833 in Montgomery Co., OH.My problem starts with the connection of my Daniel S. NOFFSINGER to his supposed parents, Samuel and Mary (BRECKNER).
Glea Richer Brown's book notes that this family scattered :(
Children listed in Brown's book for Samuel and Mary are Leonard, Olive (CLOUGH), Angelina (CLARK), Morris, Elmer, Retta, Cordelia, and SamuelThe reason I think Daniel S. NOFFSINGER may be a child is becaus in the 1880 census of Latty Twp., Paulding Co., OH, it lists a D. NOFFSINGER, 32y b OH, head of household, with his SIBLINGS: Betty 17y, Elmer 13y, Samuel 10y, and Morris 8y -- all b OH.When Daniel married, he named a daughter Flora Olive. The first names of these individuals are so similar.
My Daniel m Mary PaulineMolly/Polly SWICK 1881 in Paulding Co., OH and they had 8 children b between 1882-1898 (Joseph Clements, Sarah L., Janetta, Margaret, Clara E., Flora Olive, Dollie E., Dottie A.).
I descend from Joseph "Clem" who was a baker in Grand Rapids, Wood Co., OH, and Royalton in Fulton Co., OH (though my lineage is NOT connected to the Nofzinger's, etc., of that same county).
The only census I can find Daniel in is the 1880 one.In 1900 I find his wife who is not listed as widowed.Daniel commonly went by only "D. S. Noffsinger", was an elected clerk in Grover Hill in 1891.
I cannot find any burial info for this individual.
There may be a possibility that Daniel first went to Randolph Co., IN before going to Paulding Co., OH.
If anyone has any connections to the children of Samuel and Mary (BRECKNER) NOFFSINGER, please let me know.
