I am a NOLAN descendant from Rainy River. Never knew of a Nolin. Thought only Jeremiah Nolan and his son, Thomas Nolan were the only Nolan settlers in the Rainy River district. They came from Eastern Ontario, Lanark County, near Perth. John Nolan also staked a claim here, but soon after moved to Michigan. However, I'd heard that a Nolan (Nolin??) from the USA, had maybe worked with the railroad and spent some time in Rainy River, Ontario, presumably prior to the 1950's. I know of that researcher, Charles Nolan, from Akron, Ohio, who came to do some research 50 years ago. Interested in hearing from you ASAP!
