Margaret M. (Noon) Moynihan, 96 years old, of Marlborough, died on Sunday, April 18, 2010, at the UMass Memorial-Marlborough Hospital. Born in Utica, N. Y, daughter of the late William M. and Lucy (Shaughnessy) Noon, she was the wife of the late Andrew J. Moynihan who died in 1985. Prior to moving to Marlborough, she had been a longtime resident of Ashland and Needham. Mrs. Moynihan was a graduate of Potsdam State Normal School Class of 1935 and Framingham State College Class of 1973. She was a Licensed Certified Social Worker at several hospitals and health care centers including Milford Hospital, Bolton Manor Nursing Home, and Kathleen Daniel Nursing Home. In addition, she taught Braille at the Carroll Center for the Blind in Newton. She was a member of the Catholic Women's Club, National Association of Social Workers, Ladies Golf League in Ashland and was a volunteer for BayPath Home and Community Services. She is survived by four sons, Lawrence E. Moynihan and his wife Joan of Avon, CT; William A. Moynihan and his wife Terry of Wellesley, Andrew J. Moynihan and his wife Mary Ellen of Wrentham and Rev. James D. Moynihan and his wife Shelia of Yorktown, Va.; one daughter, Patricia K. Buckley and her husband Michael of Mansfield; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was mother of the late Michael J. Moynihan and sister of the late Rev. William T. Noon, SJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 23, 2010, at 9 a.m., in St. Cecilia's Church, 55 Esty St., Ashland. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Needham. Calling hours at the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St., Framingham will be on Thursday, April 22, 2010, from 4-8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in Margaret's memory may be made to the Boston Catholic Television, Box 9196, 34 Chestnut St., Watertown, MA 02471-9196.
