WILLIAMNORVELL, son of William page 24,(born January 20, 1772 -died January 24, 1833 in Maucopin County, Illinois), married September 8, 1801 Mary Payne(born ca. March 10, 1775 -died May 10, 1872), the daughter of John Payne.Her brother Dudley Payne posted bond for this marriage in Botetourt County Virginia. They originally lived in Botetourt County, Virginia, but moved from Sumner County Tennessee in 1828 to Maucopin County, Illinois, settling in North Palmyra Township.The Norvells farmed sections 23 and 24, which adjoined the Davidson farm.She and William came to Sumner (purchased land on middle fork of Red River in 1805) County shortly after their marriage, probably at the same time her father moved his family there. In 1828 they moved to Macoupin County Illinois where they lived out their lives. William he served in the war of 1812 and in April of 1830 he served on the Grand Jury in Carlinville. Alltheir children were born in Sumner County Tennessee before they went to Illinois.
