The only reminder I have to make is that test kits can only be ordered for males with the surname Norwood, or males of another surname who are in the direct male line of descent from a male Norwood ancestor. This can happen because of adoption, for example. If you have any questions about who should take a Y-DNA test, please write me and I will be happy to help.
If you would like to contribute to the general fund to help pay for y-dna tests for individuals whose y-dna would make an important contribution but who cannot afford to purchase a kit, please use the following link:
One small contribution has been made to date.As you contribute, I will create a committee for evaluating disbursement of the funds. We can take requests and determine whether to cover the entire cost or part of it.Of course, if a test is important to your own research, you may choose to order a test for another family member and pay for it yourself. This is often necessary when your family member is not interested in genealogy. The task is to convince them to donate their sample and to take it seriously enough to be honest and prompt. There are stories of relatives who don't follow through or who send in someone else's DNA as a lark, so we need to take care.
I just wanted to get this information out on this forum and I hope I have made it easier to get to the pages you need to participate.
