I am wondering if anyone knows anything about a Nowak family living in Poznan, Poland, in 1940-41. An elderly man and a couple with a five year old daughter. The man may have been a member of the Polish intelligentsia and he was taken to Zakopane during that time by the Germans. The younger man was a technical designer who was unemployed and forced to work for the Germans as a waiter in a restaurant for German military officers. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone out there? They had the wife and 4 year old son of a Hamburg policeman drafted into serving as a guard for a camp living in a flat with them.
