Count Paul Nowakowski, Krakow, son Stanislaus b. 1829
Does anyone have a Count Paul Nowakowski of Poland in their family tree?
We understand he had a number of sons, one of whom worked in the diplomatic corps.
Recently, my cousin in England has tracked our line back to Stanislaus Nowakowski (son of Paul Nowakowski) who arrived in England in 1849 at the age of 20 and set up a very successful furrier business. He married Sarah Bell in England and lived in Sloane Street, in Knightsbridge. They had several children including Jonah Nowakowski, my great grandfather, who continued in the popular (at the time) fur business.
We'd be delighted to receive any information and may be able to provide quite a bit, too.
All the best,
Jo
