In searching the 1880 census for Pemiscot County, MO, which is right next to Dunklin County, I found several Nunnery brothers who were sons of Nathaniel and Elizabeth Nunnery of Benton County, TN. They were Nehemiah, Jeptha, William, and George. Nehemiah, Jeptha, and William were on the 1850 census as children of Nathaniel and Elizabeth. George was born ca 1851. William's wife in 1880 was Ann Prin, b. ca 1853 in TN. Their children were John, 9, (John Nathaniel?), MO, Jane, 4, MO, and Green, 1, MO. Ann's mother, Levina Prin, was living with them is how I got the maiden name for her. The DOB for John would be right and I haven't found any other Johns in MO anywhere near that DOB. So I am fairly confident that this is John Nathaniel. I am going to send for his death certificate to see if it confirms William as his father. If it connects then we go back another generation beyond William's father, Nathaniel, to his father, another Nathaniel, who was born in NC and married Rebecca Sanders also of NC. Please list William as only a possibility for John's father until it is confirmed. This way we won't spread bad informtion as so often happens on the internet.
