Jacob Nusser, Sr. was born in a western region of Germany ( possibly the Alsace-Lorraine area) in the early 1700's. He arrived with one of his two sons(Jacob, Jr. ) in Philadelphia on the Brigantine Morning Star on Dec. 24, 1772. They were indentured to Mr. Jams Christie, a Baltimore merchant, until about 1777. They then show up on the tax roles in Hanover and Heidelburg Township, York County, PA.between 1778-1785. They returned to Baltimore where they appear on the records of St. Peter's Catholic Church in 1786.The 2nd son, Sabastian Nusser, arrived in Philadelphia in 1773. He went to Baltimore and married Barbara (maiden name unknown). Not sure if the marriage took place in MD. or PA. He lived in Balt. between 1773-1781. He then moved to York County, PA. and lived there between 1781-1783 when he moved back to Balt. I think that I have been able to some of the ancestors of Jacob, Jr. and nearly all of the close ancestors of Sabastian all the way down to the present day. Sabastian was my great great great grandfather.
