Based on documents that I have the Nuttle family kept track of the children of William and Sarah Knuttle. Since they have a mm/dd/yyyy date for Ami's death it is my belief that they were in touch with his descendants in Jul 13, 1874 when he died.
In the 1850 census which I assume you have seen Ami Nuttle is living with William age 5 and Nancy S. age 25.
The thing that is really interesting in your information is his full name. His nephew, the son of John Nuttle was named Ami D. Nuttle. (Possibly Doubleday.)
Some of William and Sarah children did not pick very health spouses.Eliza Nuttle, Ami sister went through three husbands.
It is known from several documents that John Nuttle lived in Huron and Lorain Counties. Erie Co was formed from Huron and Sandusky Co.
There are children of William and Sarah in both Indiana, (Allen Co: George, John, and possibly Sara Ann, and Steuben: Eliza.) and in Michigan. Patty and possibly William.
If you have the name of descendants that were grown between 1911 and 1835 I would be glad to check the Nuttle Reunion records to see if anyone of them attended the reunions. These records were the first indications that Eliza Nuttle from Steuben Co was the Eliza daughter of William and Sarah Nuttle.
I would be glad to exchange information with you on the Nuttle family.
