I'm interested in any information about my great great grandfather Eric Augustinus Henriksson/Nyström who was born 1836 in Tjäl, Vilhelmina, Sweden.
Eric Augustinus emigrated to America in 1892 and left his wife and children in Sweden.
He probably went to a friend Jonas Sjöberg born 1860 in Laxbäcken, Vilhelmina, Sweden. Jonas and his family emigrated to America in 1889. Two of Jonas brothers, Israel (b. 1866) and Pehr (b.1868) also emigrated to America. Maybe they went to Roseau, MN?
In 1897 or 1898 Eric Augustinus was murdered just before he was going back to Sweden after not earning any money in the new country.
I don´t know where he lived and died. Maybe in Roseu, MN? I have a photograph of him taken by photographer O.A Holm in Roseu, MN.
A newspaper clip from a swedish newspaper I have tells about the tragic story, but it doesn't say where it took place.
Perhaps somebody can help me finding out some more about him.
