This is my second try...lost my first message to you!
Anyway, I would also be very interested in any data that you may have re: the Oathout's.My great grandfather was Augustus Pinkney Oathout & Anna Marie Tibbets was my ggrandmother....and I've never had a clue where my ggrandparents were buried.Thank you!All of the ones that I know about are buried in the Westerville Cemetery at/near Westerville, NE.Not much town anymore.
I've never heard of Cottage Grove, NE from anyone....Have heard of Barada and Verdon...but not C.C.Anyway, my grandfather was Charles Franklin Oathout/Rosa Jane (Gobel) Oathout my grandmother.I never knew them, they died before I was born. They are buried in Westerville Cemetery, as well as my mother & father, Charles Frederick Oathout, and Bessie May (Cox/Booknau) Oathout, and 2 of my brothers, Dick & Roger, and my father's aunt, Maude May (Gobel) Haney (sister of Rosa Jane Gobel) & husband Isaac Haney. Also, the Booknau people, which are almost non-existant on the I-net.Sarah Jane Booknau adopted/foster parent (?) my mother abt. 1906 and is buried inL.A., CA.And, most or all of her family are buried in NE.
I'm sorry, but can't answer your question re: the Oathout brothers who ran a blacksmith shop in Cottage Grove.I do know that my grandfather, Charles Franklin Oathout was a blacksmith, I was told.....in Westerville...maybe also in C.G.,NE.
I would be interested to know how you found the burial locations of the Oathout's, etc., in Harris Cemetery.I tried on the I-net, and came up with only 6 people (I didn't know any of them).
Also looking for any Haney info, as well as Hansen, Grant, Gobel, & Booknau.
Think the children are:Charles Franklin, Fancis Martin, Wm. Jennings, Calvin, & Ida Lillie Oathout.Yes???
Charles F. is my grandfather.I don't have any of Augustus' relatives; brothers, sisters, mother, father, etc.
