Dan Ray, Rebecca O'Bannon married William Ray on Feb 28, 1795, in Washington Co., KY. She was the daughter of James O'Bannon and Mary Mason. Rebecca was born about 1774, in Fauquier Co., VA, before her parents migrated to Kentucky. They were in Kentucky by 1794, when their daughter, Rhoda, was born. James O'Bannon was born about 1741 in Fauquier Co., VA, and died 1809 in Washington Co., KY when he drowned in the Rolling Fork River. James was the son of John O'Bannon, "Sr. of Hamilton Parish" and Sarah Barbee. John was born about 1708 and died 1774 (will made Nov. 18, 1773, and proved Mar 28, 1774) in Fauquier Co., VA. Sarah was born about 1714, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret Barbee. John O'Bannon was the son of Bryan O'Bannon, the immigrant. Bryan, "of the County of Westmoreland" bought land on 20 Dec 1720 in Hanover Parish, Richmond County. He received his first land grant in 1728 on Pignut Ridge, and then a later grant in 1741.
Rebecca's sister, Sarah O'Bannon, married Nathaniel Ray on November 18, 1786 in Washington County, KY. I suspect Nathaniel and William are of the same family, maybe brothers.
