Hello, I read your post, so I registered with this site to reply. My maiden name is Oberholtzer. My family tree is on Ancestry.com. Is your father Charles Alton Oberholtzer? I did some research and I copied some files, but I need to research more. One of them, from Ancestry.com, North Carolina Marriage Collection 1741-2004 has a marriage to Betty Jo Spencer, in 1961, Pasquotank, NC. The Coats Family Tree has a Betty Jo Rich and spouse is Charles Alton Oberholtzer. Evidently she had already divorced Spencer when she married Charles. I found Betty's parents names and records. They are Glenn Daniel Rich and Annie Joyce York. Glenn's parents are Benjamin Franklin Rich and Ester Jane Stout. I have two other records, Florida Marriages and Florida Divorces, where Charles Alton Oberholtzer married in Feb 1976 and divorced in July 1976 a woman named Norma. I found Charles A. Oberholtzer on Findagrave.com, in Florida. The obituary only listed his last marriage and only one child, a daughter. I would like to know if he is your father. The obituary says his father's name is Charles, but that is not true. I have a record of his birth from Ancestry. His father's name is Alton Victor Oberholtzer, which is my grandfather Daniel Arnett Oberholtzer's brother. My grandfather was a bigamist. He had a wife in Ohio named Hazel Harris when he married my father's mother in Washington DC. This bunch is something else. Alton and Dan had another brother, Ford Douglas Oberholtzer. I can send you what I have, but I don't know how this website works and I don't want to post my email address in public. Ancestry sends emails from other people to you but they block their address. You have to willingly give the person your address yourself if you decide to reply. I didn't check the box on this site that says display my email address for all of my messages. Display it where? They need to be more clear.
