Andrew it will be real easy to run alot of this information together.First of all it was supposed to have been Duncan and David arriving ca 1739.I personnally have never seen anything on this arrival except as reported ina book written in 1916 saying they were sons of Lord Ochiltree of Jura. There is a Duncan about 30 years later very well documented in NC but where he came from not sure we know.
Hugh and Daniel, sons of Margaret Mc Glashan.Margaret was married to a John Ochiltree.Have not actuall seen a passenger list on them. The information came from a book by David Dobson. (You need to make it a point to meet him one day).I believe that Margaret was a young woman when deported because she had a daughter born in 1794.Could Duncan and David be later children of hers?
The three brothers Mathew, Michael and Alexander are fairly well documented on both sides of the pond.At least two of them are. I could never find records on Alexander in Ulster.Cliff had published information that they were Presbyterian officials in Ulster.
Really interested in your find about the David being "discharged".Since he was deported do you think he was being discharged from prison.
Financial status? The first Ochiltrees seemed to have been merchants while our first Ogletree was a farmer. Then we have a William who did not seem to work at all.
