Thank you for your response, Nina.I was beginning to think that there weren't any Oelrichs out there.Unfortunately I know very little about my great-grandmother, Frances Mary Oelrich.All I know for sure is that she was born in New Orleans, her father was born in New York and her mother was born in Hamburg.This information comes from the 1880 census for Brooklyn where she was living at the time with her husband, Richard Matthews and five children: Jessie L. age 20, Eva A. age 12, James F. age 10, Mary A. age 6, and Charles G. age 10 months.It also indicates that Frances M. was 41 years old in 1880.
