Actually, the furthest trace of the Ogier name I've found is from France. Two brothers made the trans-Atlantic trip to Charleston and there are two main avenues of American Ogiers - The southern branch tended to remain in Charleston and spread into Florida (mine). The other branch is mainly Ohio. There are several scattered though, such as the English you referenced which was pre-Charleston. Feel free to email me. I'm still refining, but I am related to both Dr. Thomas Louis Ogier, Sr. and Dr. Thomas Louis Ogier, Jr. of Charleston in during the Civil War.
