I am Simon O’Hagan born Liverpool 1957 (son of Vincent O’Hagan and Rita Malone) I am now living in Montreal Canada. I am looking for info on or a contact with the family of James Hagan or O’Hagan of Glasgow Scotland who died April 15 1943, when the bomber he was serving on was shot down over Europe. I believe he was the son of Hugh Hagan / O’Hagan and Elizabeth Mc Elhinney married 19-11-1920 and grandson of John O’Hagan and Margaret Doherty married 9-3-1886.John O’Hagan born Armagh Ireland 1858. With all this information why am I looking? Good question. Here is the story. In the late 1800 seven brothers lost the farm in Armagh five brothers went to Liverpool one went to Glasgow (John) and one went to Ayr (Hugh). During WW2 James Hagan from Glasgow had a sergeant James J. O’Hagan from Liverpool on his crew the men flew together for at least two years. At some point they discovered they were second cousins. During leave the two men visited both Glasgow and Liverpool. On April15 1943 their aircraft was shot down all the crew was killed the two family’s lost touch again. Sergeant James J O’Hagan is my uncle. We are now looking for the descendants of all seven of the brothers from Armagh. We believe James Hagan /O’Hagan had three aunts Margaret died at 23 mounts, Susan married James Hunter 1921, and Elizabeth who traveled through the home place in Armagh during the 1916 rising while on her way to Dublin. If this story is the story of your family, and your uncle James, We want to hear from you. Simon O’Hagan and Family.
