(07/23/2003) Charles Ojeda Sr., age 78, lifelong resident of Austin, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 21, 2003. Charles served in the European Theatre during WW II. He was employed for 41 years in the life insurance business, where he became a good and trusted friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lazaro and Bernarda Ojeda; and brothers, Tony, Sixto and Julio Ojeda. He is survived by his loving wife, Lupe Ojeda; sons, Charles Ojeda Jr. and wife, Patricia, of San Bernardino, California, Edward Ojeda and wife, Sandra, David Ojeda and wife, Vivian, and Edward Castillo, all of Austin; daughters, Olivia Ojeda, Jeanette Long, Alice Gallagher and husband, Robbie, JuliaAnn Mendez and husband, Mario, all of Austin; 18 grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 24, 2003, at St. Peter the Apostle Church, Monsignor Fred Bomar as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum. Pallbearers will include Charles Ojeda III, Joshua Ojeda, Lupe Villarreal III, David Mendez, Delilah Ojeda and Desire Gallagher. Sixto Ojeda Jr. will be an Honorary Pallbearer.
