Wanda, Just came across your posting.Margaret O'Kane and John Mullen, both born in Ireland, were my g-g-grandparents.They migrated to Swanton circa 1828.Margaret died in Swanton on August 7, 1889; John in Swanton in 1875.Both are interred in St. Mary's Cemetery there.They had nine children: (1.) Thomas, born in Ireland in 1827, the rest all born in Swanton.;(2.) James (my g-grandfather) on Feb.10, 1834, died St. Albans on May 6, 1898 also interred in St. Mary's in Swanton in the plot with his parents.James married Ann Swanton of County Cork on July 21, 1863 in St. Albans. (3.) Charles Mullen born February 23, 1836 (according to documentation but his tombstone shows his dob as March 23, 1836.He married Rosa Rooney of Fairfield on September 24, 1867.He died January 13, 1904; Rosa died April 7, 1917.Both are interred in St. Mary's Cemetery in Franklin. (4.) John 1837-1910.(5.) William 1839-1885.Married twice Anna O'Neill (Nov 30, 1878) and Jane Pratt.William and Anna are interred in Holy Cross Cemetery in St. Albans. (6.) Ezekial 1842-1911.Married Ann Jane Nokes (May 20, 1868) then Ada Bundy Beard after Ann died.Ezekial was a Civil War pensioner,having lost a leg at Baton Rouge in the Lower Mississippi Campaign.(7.)Barney Mullen 1845-1915 married Mary Grahand of St. Armand, Que then Lillian Donaldson of Swanton on June 9, 1892.He fathereda daughter by each of the two wives. (8.) Mary Mullen 1852-1919; married John Mott of Alburg January 17, 1869. (9.) Michael Mullen 1852-1919; married Ellen Driscoll April 8, 1874.
