Hi Sherry!
I am also a descendent of Johnannes "George" Olt, via his son Reuben Oldt (b. 1836), Reuben's son Maynard (b. 1871), and Maynard's daughter Areldene (b. 1913). Areldene is my grandmother and is still living in Michigan.I live in Janesville, Wisconsin.
I have an excellent 7-page geneological narrative prepared by my grandmother many years ago going back to "George" oldt. I would be happy to share this with you or anyone else interested.
I am very interested in comparing notes and learning more about these ancestors, in particular about their roots in Germany (The Palatine?) and about whether any of them faught in the Revolutionary or later U.S. Wars.Am also interested in obtaining copies of any records of births, deaths, property, wills, probate, etc.Am willing to pay for reasonable copying and postage costs.
My grandmother tells me that John Oldt refers to his "mantion" in his will and that this may still exist near New Berlin.Do you know anything about this?Is the home or property still owned by anyone descended from this family?
Basically, I am looking for any new information - not just for myself but for my grandmother who at age 87 is still very sharp and very curious about her "roots".
Thanks for your assistance!I can be e-mailed at [email protected].
