I had made several posts with erroneous information. The Patrick O'Neil I am researching is my g.g. grandfather. I have some information he migrated from County Carlow in Ireland and was in Schuykill County Pennsylvania in the late 1820's. He was married first to a Sarah Kelly, also from Ireland, in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Pottstown in 1831. She died shortly after giving birth to a son Peter O'Neil, b. 10 June 1832. Sarah was reported as having died in Blythe Township. Patrick, later married an Ellen Delany from County Kilkennyin the same Catholic Church in 1836. He, and his family resided in the Mahanoy City area for many years. My g. grandfather, Peter O'Neil had migrated to northern Michigan and was listed in the 1850 Michilmackinac (Michigan) Census. He was working as a fisherman on Lake Huron. He later married a widow from Huron County Michigan and lived in that county till his death, 25 March 1883. He is buried in Port Austin Michigan. The O'Neil name may have changed spelling to O'Neal in the 1850's.
