Dear Tracey, I was intrigued with your answer to Jim Onslow about his research in Shawbury. My great grandmother was Annie Stanyer Onslow (b Broseley 1853); her father was Dr. Cyrus Edmonds Onslow (b 1830 Wem) a Vet & publican in Broseley; his father was Richard Onslow (b 1785 Shawbury), a Druggist and Grocer, but who were his parents? I have searched the records at Shrewsbury record office, to no avail, so I am stuck. Although I live in Suffolk, I have looked at the M.I's in the churchyard at Shawbury.I wondered if his parents were Thomas and Anne Colley, who are buried there, but I have no proof? Thomas Onslow was at one-time a tenant of Sowbath Farm. Later,Richard died at Sowbath Farm, Stanton in May 1854, but where was he buried? Does this link in with your ancestors? If you have any ideas I would be very grateful. Maybe, I can help you.I have more information.
