Yes Linda, the gateway is now well signposted and the driveway into the cemetery has been improved. A cattle grid has replaced the gate.
The cemetery is actually located in the middle of a Travelling Stock Reserve, a hangover from the mid-19th century when most of the cattle and sheep driven from Qld and NSW to the Victorian goldfields passed through the area.
I have a theory that the cemetery may have developed on the site of an early stockman's grave but I have no proof that this was the case. It seems a curious location for a cemetery.
The dirt road isn't that long.
I used to ride my bike out from the town to visit my grandparents who lived a bit further along the lane when I was a boy. And the road from the town to the laneway (rather grandly signposted "Cemetery Road") is now sealed.
