Cuinn Septs DNA Project - Call for Participants
Hello All,
I wanted to take a moment today to invite all individuals that have had their DNA tested for Genetic Genealogy to join the Cuinn Septs DNA Project at Family Tree DNA as we begin to define the many Cuinn families associations with Ireland and Scotland.
This research project allows individuals to collaborate and better understand their ancient origins as well as their more recent connections to Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales.
The Project is titled Cuinn Septs because the surname Cuinn is the Gaelic spelling of the name prior to Anglicization. If you are interested in joining and have received DNA results from any of the various DNA Test Organizations don't worry. We can "port" your results from any other organization so that you will be able to join our project group.
Even if your last name is NOT exactly Cuinn, such as Quin, Quinn, Queen, O'Quin(n), O'Queen, MacQuien, MacQuinn, McQuin(n), Guinn, Gunn, Goins, etc. you are encouraged to join as your name may still be descended from Art mac Cuinn a High King of Ireland. Should your name give indication that you are descended from Conn CĂ©tchathach ("of the Hundred Battles") through any of Conn's descendants, please consider joining.
Kindly, T. Allen Quinn (Cuinn Septs DNA Project Administrator)
