My interest in the Orchard family was from two sources. One Orchard, a lawyer in the Shannon-Reynolds-Dent counties, represented some families from the area who made applications for federal pension service during the Civil War--his letters were in the Civil War pension application files that I got for some family members. There was also an Orchard who served with the family members during the Civil War.
There also seems to be a connection between an Orchard family who were in what became McClain-Pontotoc Counties in Oklahoma besides some who lived for a short time in Love County--between census years and before WWI.
There is no family tree connection with my folks, just the military and lawyer connection.
