We have done some tracing of the Orger name. Our ancestors have a Maria Orger, christened 1839 in Much Hadham, Hertfordshire, and married to John Prior in 1861, Wareside. The Orger name is traced up through five generations (John Orger and Martha, Goldsmith Orger and Rebecca Dean, William Orger and Martha Goldsmith, William Orger and Martha, George Orger and Elizabeth). The Goldsmith name goes up two generations from Martha G. and in many cases there are Orger siblings. Maria Orger has six siblings, two of whom (Elizabeth and James) we have (just a few) descendents for. Interestingly, we have Elizabeth married to another Orger, a George.
Orger being an unusual name in the area, we have traced it as much as possible, and have a fair bit of information that we cannot link up to those that we feel are more likely our ancestors. I would be interested to hear of what links you have made because they would likely relate to the folk we have in our research.
