Trying to find details of my great great grandfather, Thomas Ormerod who moved from England (possibly Lancashire) to Brazil to manage a cotton mill in 1873 circa. Thomas had a son (by whom?) called James Ormerod, my great grandfather, who received the Honorary Testimonial of the Royal Humane Society for having on the 10/06/1903 gone to the rescue of a John Bland who was in imminent danger of drowning in a mill lodge at Ramsbottom, Lancashire and whose life he gallantly saved. Any other details of James; birth, death etc. would be appreciated.
