Dear Andrew:
The young lady in the shop tried to tell me that the village was named for the "ore" that was mined in the area. When I asked her about Orm of Denmark,,she said there was never such a person. At that point I thought better than to disagree as I was a visitor there.
My father passed away suddenly before he could finish telling me about our family. (I am 54 years old )The reason I am searching for the names of my GG Grandparent is to find my link to the Camerons. Most first born males in my family are named James Cameron Ormiston. All my life other parts of my family (Patersons,Donaldsons and Smiths) have always refered to the Ormistons as "Those Bloody Camerons". They all grew up together in the Tollcross section of Glasgow. I want to find that link. I believe it is the mother of my GG Grandfather ,James Cameron Ormiston from Glasgow. Please contact me Direct at [email protected]. I reside in Stratford Connecticut,USA
