I have founder her on the 1901 Census as a widow living with her mother Rachel, who had remarried and shows as Rachel Hyland - Ref RC 13/772 pp 10.
This then leads me back to Alfred and Rachel Ottaway, who were farmers in Headcorn living at "Little Tilden House" I don't know YET where they were married or Rachel's maiden name or birthplace.
The Parish Records of Headcorn show Eliza Ottaway (18)=James Leary at the C of E Parish Church 1/12/1863 (The O' must have been added at a later date) This also explains how a girl from a VERY staunch Protestant family would APPEAR to have married into an Irish RC family. (It just didn't happen)
Alfred is noted as the father and Mary Ann was a witness.
I have all the details for the Ottaway side of this line - if you are interested - email me direct on email@example.com
