If the Thomas Outram in Elland you refer to was born 1817, son of Benjamin Outram and Martha Thwaite, I've been tracking this family in the censuses. And he didn't marry. Martha inherited money from her father Solomon, and Benjamin was quite a bit older than she was, so one way and another the family was well off. Thomas employed hundreds of men in one or another of his 3 capacities as Farmer, woollen finisher and dyer, and vitriol manufacturer, but died unmarried. So your Sarah must have married another Thomas, I fear.
I'm from Halifax, too, with relationships into the Thwaites family. cheers Maggie
