There are Ovens' in Ontario who originated in the area of Drumcrow townland, parish of Inishmacsaint, Co. Fermanagh Ireland. My pet theory is that Ovens and Owens have the same origin, supported by records that seem to be the same people with different spelling.Visit the Fermanagh-Gold forum on Rootsweb and look for either name.Check the various ships lists for your names also.
My Owens family from that area emigrated to Ontario in 1846, and the Ovens family (I think they are in Hamilton-not certain) came at about the same time, or perhaps earlier.
Best of luck!
