Vickie, I think Levi's widow was the Frances Oxley who married Thomas Fowler in 1803 and that they are on the 1810 census of Fleming co, Ky. There is another deed referring to the land of Eli Oxley and he had already died. His widow was Margaret Oxley who is listed on the 1810 census Fleming co, Ky by herself and then she married Andrew Yeates. Her children are spelled out in the Eli Oxley deed and the Day family is really mixed up with this group - Fleming Co, Ky Book L Deeds, page 83 This Indenture made this thirteenth day of June in the year eighteen hundred and twenty between James Crawford a Commissioner appointed for and on behalf of William Oxley, William Ricketts and Elizabeth his wife, Alexander McDowell and Celia his wife, Polly Oxley, Prior Oxley, Samuel Oxley, Rachel Oxley and Eli Oxley, heirs of Eli Oxley deceased of the one part and Lewis Day, Ackley Day, William Day, Saunders Day, Charles Day, Amelia Day, Edmond Pettis and Mariah his wife, Peter Olliver and Polly his wife, Elizabeth Day and Truman Day of the other part witnesseth that whereas the said James Crawford by virtue of a decree of the Fleming Circuit Court at the present June Term thereof in a certain suit in Chancery therein depending wherein Saunders devises were complainant and Eli Oxley heirs were defendants now witnesseth that whereas the said James Crawford commissioner as aforesaid by virtue of said decree doth by these presents convey unto the parties of the second part the following described tract of land to wit beginning at two black oaks in the line of John Mosby's thirty thousand acre tract and thence west one hundred and seventy four poles to three beeches corner to Daniel Ficklin land thence south one hundred and thirty three poles with Ficklins line to a beech and elm thence east one hundred and seventy four poles to three sugartrees on the line of Mosby and with the same North to the Beginning. On Lewis Oxley born 1801 Ky married Mary "Polly" Lewis 25 Oct 1823 Warren co, Oh. On the 1850 census, next door to Lewis Oxley is a William Littleton, age 74 born in Va. I "feel" that William Littleton was probably related some way to Lewis. There was a William Littleton in Loudoun co, Va. Do you have any idea how he might be related?
Which one of Levi's children are you related to?
I descend from John Oxley b 1740;his son Henry and Jane Oxley ...Jane went to Clinton co, Oh with her kids. Where the above Lewis lived in Warren co was next to where they lived in Clinton co. I was trying to decide how many branches of the family had the name "Lewis" handed down as a given name. Pat
