My James Addair's son, John Addair, also ended up in Lawrence Co., KY.He's on the 1823 tax list and the 1830 census, then pretty much disappears, although several of his children married in Lawrence Co. in the 1830's.
Before that he's found in Cabell County, Virginia, so I think he was somewhere on the Big Sandy River, and just crossed to the other side.Looks like your Packs went straight to Kentucky and are in Floyd Co. before Lawrence was formed.
I know what you mean about spelling - we find Adair, Addair, O'dare, Odear, etc. etc.
How do you think the Frederick County George and Samuel relate to yours?I have no clue so far where James Addair was before 1773, when he shows up on Stephen Trigg's tithable list for Botetourt Co., I think on New River.I don't see Packs there, but they must have arrived by 1774, if not before.
