I'm researching an ENGEL family from Neuenkirchen near Neubrandenburg, Mecklenburg. Several members of the Engel family emigrated in late 1859, arriving in New York in December 1859. I don't know where some of the family members settled. On the passenger list, immediately following the ENGEL family, is the following family:
Friedrich PAGEL, age 34 Friederike PAGEL, age 34 Johann PAGEL, age 8 Maria PAGEL, age 3 mos.
This family came from Trollenhagen, which is very close to Neuenkirchen, where the Engels lived, so it's possible that these families emigrated together. Any information about where this PAGEL family settled would be appreciated.
