F. W. PAGEL CALLED EARLY THIS MORNING TOWN OF ACKLEY RESIDENT IS SURVIVED BY WIFE AND NINE CHILDREN F.W. Pagel of the town of Ackley died at 3:15 this morning after an illness of about five months with an abscess.He is survived by his wife and nine children, Albert, Anton, Adolph, William, George, Fred, John, Anna and Elizabeth. Mr. Pagel was born in Germany September 25, 1855 and was sixty-two years old at the time of his death.He came to this country about thirty-two years ago, residing at Wausau about ten years and then moving to Antigo where he had resided since. The deceased was well known here and had many friends who mourn his death. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence at Ackley.The Rev. Carl Nagel will officiate. PAGEL FUNERAL HELD IN TOWN OF ACKLEY FRED W PAGEL, DECEASED, WAS FATHER OF NINE SURVIVING CHILDREN The funeral services for Fred W Pagel were held from the home in the town of Ackley at 2:30 yesterday afternoon.The rites were conducted by the Rev. Carl Nagel, pastor of the Unity Evangelical Church.Interment was in the new cemetery.Mr. Pagel is survived by his wife and nine children.The pall-bearers, all intimate friends, were John Robuski, Mr. Hansen, William Tranz and Mrs. (?) MRS. JOHANNA PAGEL DIES AT AGE 92 Mrs. Johanna Schmidt Pagel, 92, resident of Antigo the past 50 years, died at 9:15 o'clock Tuesday night at her home, 102 South Lincoln Street, following a two months' illness. She was born Dec 11, 1853 at Pommern, Germany.She was married in Germany, when about 20 years old, to Fred Pagel.They migrated to America 65 years ago and moved here after 15 years at Wausau.Mrs. Pagel was a member of the Unity Evangelical and Reformed Church. Surviving are five sons, Ed of Antigo, Bill and Fred of Milwaukee, George of Oshkosh and John of California; 22 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.Preceding her in death were her husband, two daughters, Annie and Elizabeth, two sons, Anton and Albert, and three other children who died in infancy. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the McCandless & Zobel funeral home, the Rev. E.A. Mayer officiating.Burial will be in the Antigo cemetery. I don't know who Fred's parents were.I have been spending a lot of time researching some Danish genealogy records for the other side of my tree and have not gotten very in-depth into the German side, but I should because the majority of my relatives are from Germany.I guess I am a bit scared to since the whole "zillion different names for countries that kept changing" thing is a bit daunting.
It would be excellent if you could forward copies of those documents to me.
