I am still working on this “big picture” PALCIC project, but, as you can see, there hasn’t been much activity lately here on our Palcic forum.
The Frane Palcic who arrived in New York on June 23, 1913 aboard the Carpathia, left behind in Pago, a wife named Agatha Palcic. If I’m not mistaken, you once said that your great grandmother’s name was Jelica. Could Agatha and Jelica be the same woman? Also, Frane went to join his brother (it looks like) Fabe Oguic or Ognic (must have been a half brother or step brother) in Benwood, West Virginia. I haven’t yet found any other possible “Frank” immigrants that could be your great grandfather.
Sidenote: The Carpathia was the first rescue ship to arrive at the scene of the Titanic disaster in 1912. It arrived over four hours later after receiving the SOS, and steaming full speed ahead through those same dangerous waters. I would imagine that the passengers on that “rescue” voyage had some interesting stories to tell their grandchildren, although, obviously not as interesting as the stories of those who were rescued.
Best holiday wishes to you and your family. Daniel
