Tom,
The Sarah J Palmore who married Zacharah Stokes in Powhatan County, Virginia on 9 Mar 1839 was the daughter of Benjamin Palmore, whodied and left a will in Powhatan County, Virginia in 1849,and Sarah Montague. Sarah Montague, called Sally in her father's will, was the daughter of Thomas Montague IV and Sarah Brown of Cumberland County, Va. Benjamin Palmore was the son of Fleming Palmore who died and left a will in Cumberland County, Virginia in 1835. I do not know the name of Benjamin's mother.Fleming Palmore, born 7 Nov 1754 in Cumberland, was the son of William Palmer who died and left a will in Cumberland County in 1786.The only indication I have seen of the name of William's wife was a deed from John Creasy to John Gill in Goochland County in 1746 that was witnessed by William Palmer and Judith Palmer. I do know that John Creasy and William Palmer owned adjacent property on Deep Run in Cumberland County that they jointly purchased from Thomas Walton in 1842. This area was part of Goochland County until Cumberland was formed in 1749. I am in the process of researching the ancestry of Fleming Palmore but have nothing conclusive beyond what I have shown above.I do have fairly complete information on several generations of his descendants.
