There are a few Pandolfis living in Edinburgh and Glasgow in Scotland. We are the progeny of Emilio Pandolfi and Restituta D'Andrea. Emilio came from Caserta in the province of Frosinone southof Rome. Restituta hailed from the village of Picinisco. (A lot of Scots Italians have their origins from that area) Emilio and Restituta met and married(c 1910) in Manchester where their three eldest children were born,Philip,Albano Lorenzo and Ida.The family subsequently moved to Glasgow around 1922.Emilo had an icecream business in the Maryhill area of that city.(they had five other children born in Glasgow) We wonder if your father and Emilio were cousins or brothers.
My father was Albano Lorenzo. He died in 1994. Therre are four sisters still alive, two in Glasgow unmarried, and two in the London area, both married with children.
I live in Edinburgh married with two daughters. One of whom now lives in london.
On travels to Italy and other countries, there areinvariably Pandolfis listed in telephone directories but never very many.
Over of the years the name "Pandolfi" has cropped up in a number of interesting ways. For example there was a race horse mamed "Pandolfi" which incredibly won several races in the 1960's.
there was an Argentinian footballer called Carlos Pandolfi
In 1979 a Signor Pandolfi was for a short time president of Italy.
There was a well publicised novel in English whose main character was called Edith Pandolfi.
Giovanni Pandolfi was a composer of reknown of violin sonatas.
I am always very interested in our origins and wonder if we are related through the Manchester connection. (Do you support Manchester United? as we do)
I hope to receive further information from you or any one else who finds the above of note.
